Shahrukh Khan becomes ‘Baap of Bollywood’ with Chennai Express release; beats Salman, Hrithik, Ranbir & others

of Bollywood, we have something for you! Shahrukh Khan- Deepika
Padukone starrer Chennai Express is moving on with an extraordinary
pace over the box offices in India and across globe. The film has
smartly cashed-in-on the Eid holiday as it bagged Rs 33.12 crore on
the opening day. Leaving behind many films, Rohit Shetty starrer
Chennai Express has become the biggest ever opener.

If we join the paid preview collections of Chennai Express then the
film has bagged Rs 39 crore in just two days. According to the ace
Bollywood trade analyst Komal Nahta, "Friday all-India net: Rs. 29
crore, second-biggest ever! Thursday paid previews: Rs. 6 crore.
Total: 35 crore. Outstanding!!"

According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "#ChennaiExpress smashes
all previous records, collects Rs 33.12 cr on Friday. Creates
HISTORY."

Not only on the Indian Box Office but Chennai Express, which was
opened with 3,500 prints in India and 700 plus screens overseas, is
doing wonderful business in sub-territory like US, UK, Australia,
Singapore etc. The film is also spreading magic in Canada.

Komal Nahta tweets, "#ChennaiExpress records highest ever opening in
Overseas circuit, in each & every sub- territory like US, UK,
Australia, Singapore etc.Great."

Taran Adarsh tweet shows, "#ChennaiExpress takes a huge start in
USA-Canada. Thursday night preview shows: $ 260,000. Final numbers yet
to come in. Awesome!"

Also the film is doing great in Gulf region. Komal Nahta tweets,
"#ChennaiExpress Gulf Friday gross is around $ 600,000. Simply
outstanding! Yet another record created!!"

Not only the film became the highest ever opener but also it surpassed
Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots by bagging Rs 6 crore from paid previews. 3
Idiots earlier collected Rs 2.7 crore.
