The buzz around 'Chennai Express' has peaked with the Shah Rukh
Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer keeping its Eid date.
It's the first time the Bollywood Badshah is teaming with box-office
ace director, Rohit Shetty. "It's an interesting combination," says
distributor Aditya Chowksey, adding, "SRK is known for romance, while
Rohit is known for his masala movies."
Trade consultant Amod Mehra says, "Rohit has an excellent track record
and is known for his action comedies with Ajay Devgn. Shah Rukh has
been doing serious films like My Name Is Khan and
adventurous ones like RA.One. After a long time, he's doing a comedy. This
makes their combination novel."
Six years after her debut with Om Shanti
Om, Deepika will be seen with SRK again.
"Back then, she was a newcomer and
there was hardly any buzz about her.
Now, she's a superstar. That makes the
pairing even more interesting," says Mehra, about the film that essentially
comprises action, comedy and romance.
Chennai Express, produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Red Chillies
EntertainmentsPvt Ltd, releases today.
